Our team is part of the Brain Plasticity Unit, a joint research group of CNRS and ESPCI-PSL University, located in the 5th arrondissement of Paris. This historic area, known as the Latin Quarter, has been home to universities, colleges, and prestigious high schools since the 12th century. Here, you’ll experience the unique blend of Paris’s culture and way of life.
A key advantage of working in our team is the opportunity to collaborate with a diverse group of researchers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) of the Brain Plasticity Unit and ESPCI-PSL University. This environment encourages daily interactions among young, enthusiastic scientists across multiple disciplines, driving innovation and leading-edge research.
Our team, along with the rest of the Brain Plasticity Unit, is part of the Labex neuroscience community (e.g., ENS or Collège de France), which focuses on understanding brain function through multidisciplinary approaches. Our aim is to use this unique opportunity brought by this community to tackle complex questions, at different levels of an animal.
If you are interested in our lab’s research, feel free to reach out to me at raouf.issa@espci.fr. We especially value candidates with expertise in neural recordings and quantitative data analysis, though we welcome researchers from any background. I am particularly eager to collaborate with individuals from engineering and physics who can bring fresh perspectives to neuroscience.
